Audrey and Wancket Studios during and after Covid-19 Part one
Thank you to my clients and fellow professional photographers for reaching out to me to ask how my business is and how photographers are doing.
The Professional Photography world is and will be changing and evolving because of the Corona Virus. With Social Distancing and non-essential businesses not able to open yet in many states and here in Illinois, photographers are not working or at least those that adhere to rules and recommendations are not working with clients currently. The economy is hurting and on the brink of a recession. This will affect many photographers as well as their clientele. Photography currently is considered more of a luxury item than a necessity.
Though I believe that portraits and photography as well as the rest of the arts will see a decline that coincides with the income levels of our clients, it is important to remember that what we create and provide will always be wanted. And of course, photographers that have built strong businesses with loyal clientele will not be hit quite as hard.
I am not one that expects everything at Wancket Studios to be as it was prior to this pandemic. There is not even an industry in my mind that will be the same. This is unprecedented times and hopefully we all work to the new “normal” that will one, get us through the current pandemic and two, prevent one in the future.
My favorite way to describe myself and my work is even more relevant now than ever. It is that I am a work in progress…
