Q: How long should I expect for the session to take?
A: Most of our sessions usually last around 1 ½ to 2 hrs.
Q: What should I expect during the session?
A: You should expect a comfortable and relaxed environment where we do everything we can to ensure that you receive the best portrait possible. This includes changing backgrounds, poses as well as outfits. You will not be rushed and will have time to take a break if baby or children need a snack, etc.
Q: What do I need to do in order to prepare for the session?
A: The main thing you will need to do in order to prepare for the session is plan the clothing. Whether we are photographing and individual child or an extended family, clothing should be planned from head to toe. However, we know this can seem overwhelming and so we are available to help in any way we can including, recommending a color scheme (the image shown is the color palette that I sent to my own family for guidance when shopping for clothing) or a place to shop to find the look you want.
Q: What should I consider when planning my clothing?
A: Regardless of whether you’re looking for a formal or casual portrait, lean more toward classically styled clothes that aren’t overly patterned or seem dated. This will ensure a timeless look that can grace your walls for many years to come.
Q: Can we add our pet to our portrait?
A: Absolutely. We are big animal lovers here and completely understand that animals are a part of the family too. We encourage you to include your animal in your portraits and maybe even get a portrait of just your pet.
Q: How do I choose my portraits once the images have been taken?
A: After your session we’ll make an appointment for you to come back to view the images. During this appointment we will sit down with you and help you choose your favorites from all the images taken. We’ll also go over the appropriated sizes for the location(s) you are planning to display your portraits as well as different finishes. We will give you a few helpful tools to measure the size of your perfect spot. All decisions are made during this appointment so bring only those that are part of the decision making.
Q: What should I do to prepare for the viewing appointment?
A: During this appointment we’ll make all the final decisions for your portraits. It’s very helpful to have a couple ideas of where you think you want to put your portraits and also to have the size measurements for those spaces. We will have asked for some images of the room or rooms you are considering to help you with proper size and placement as well as a frame to compliment both the portrait and the room style.
